ABOUT THE ARTIST – DI SINGLETON
With no formal art training
or even art classes at school, I found decorative painting quite by
chance.
It had never occurred to me
that I could paint but armed with a brush, a pot of paint
and a lot of paper, I had a
go and was immediately hooked.
Some 20 years later, I have
written four books and had numerous designs published in magazines
both in the
I have completed their
Teacher Development Programme and am now
an accredited Teacher of
Decorative Art (TDA)
ABOUT COTTAGE DESIGNS
As well as teaching
decorative painting, Di paints a range of pieces for sale
under the Cottage Designs
banner.
All these are individually
painted and make beautiful interior décor items.
Di welcomes commissions and
her individually designed house name plates
are always in demand.
I am a founder member of BADFA – The British Association of
Decorative and Folk Arts.
BADFA introduces the
techniques of decorative and folk art painting to people who may
never have painted before. Because these types of painting are taught
in
a very structured way, it
is accessible to those who have never painted, feel
they never could paint as
well as offering new skills to experienced artists.
